Oh I wish…

Fireside

All this rain makes me wish we had a fireplace.. so far the weather trend for the fall/winter is rain… and more rain.. and we may get some snow with the rain saturday.  I don’t like the rain, except in summertime. Driving in it is not fun, the roads are not marked well around here, and people do stupid things. And when it’s cold outside and raining, it doesn’t make me want to be out exercising my dog who needs it, especially when I have been out in it all day.. We only had one day of rain over this thanksgiving holiday spent with family, and we went out regardless.. Usually if it’s daylight, I simply have to get her outside, she won’t give me peace if I haven’t and I can’t blame her. Makes me wish I had some good rain clothes that were actually warm. But I won’t go into all my wants. I need to be thankful that we even have rain, better than fires, like the other side of the country. So we will leave it at that… thankful for the rain..

Now time for bed, maybe I can kick this cold/sore throat in a day…

I know what you mean. We have a woodburner, but the days before we had oil heating installed to supplement it we used to get through 10 tonnes of wood and hundreds of kilos of coal a year. This took a lot of work especially when I was felling the timber myself. Fireplaces can be wonderful but they come at a cost!

I hope you feel better soon.
