It’s been a little while since I posted.. Not much is happening these days with Luna. Her coming into season quiets us all down a bit, well activity and exploration wise. We have had lots of funky weather lately. Between the snow, and then yesterday night rain turned to snow turned to a wintry mix of sleet etc so chris ended up staying home from work. This meant he was on Luna duty for the day, as I had to go to work. They apparently spent the day mostly napping, a little inside play but no ventures outside. She was a little stir crazy by the time I came home. I eventually resorted to stuffing a bone with peanut butter to keep her occupied while I finished up the editing for a client portrait session.
Exercise has been walks and play inside. Her energy level was pretty much normal the first day or two, but she has been calming down as she gets deeper into her cycle. Normally I would have to give her upwards of an hour to two hours (easily) of either running, intensive working walks, exploring, or rollerblading (I don’t know if that link will work, but it’s a little video clip of us rollerblading around a school track). Now an hour (easy/relaxed) walk will easily keep her content for at least 6 hours and then another 20 minute one in the evening and she’s good to retire for the night. The decreased energy level is the only upside to her being in heat.
Speaking of rollerblading, I took her out friday and she was loving it! She hadn’t been for probably at least a month due to work schedules and weather. Sadly, it got dark about 20-30 minutes into it and I was beginning to feel creeped out being on the bike trail, so we had to head back to the car. I did find a new stretch of bike trail to take her on in leesburg when I have a chance.
Alright, well I better go get us both ready for me to leave for work.
Hope you all are staying warm.
thanks for sharing the video (the link worked)! you have cesar milan’s rollerblades! woot!
Yay! glad the video worked.. and yes I do.. well he has blue.. and I they’re my very own pair.. but that’s where I first saw them.. so far so good.. no wrecks yet and we go over cracks, sticks, leaves quite a bit..
Hi!
Making a Google research to find rollerblades like Cesar Milan’s ones, I arrived on this page…
I’m in Canada and I’ve never seen rollerblades like those ones, except on Milan’s show. It would be awesome if you could tell me how / where I can fin it, or at least the name of the company that makes this product… Could you, pleeease??! =)
I and my man would love to ride our beautiful husky with rollers like that!
Thank you so much, and have a nice day,
Anne-Marie
Hello,
Glad it sent you here, would love to help. They are called Land Rollers.. you can google it or just go to http://www.landroller.com. I bought them to run my Vizsla (obviously) and I have been very happy with them. We have yet to fall/wreck on the bike trail. Despite the sticks, cracks, and rocks that litter it on occasion we have managed to roll over them or dodge them. When I put them on it was the first time in years I had been on skates, and I tried them out once or twice with just me, then got her involved as I didn’t want to wait and have been fine. So they are very easy to pick up. They look crazy but they are comfortable.
Enjoy!
Anna
Oh, thank you sooo much Anna for your lightning fast answer! Will go on the site and see if we can have it here in Québec province… Sister-in-law is a buyer for a huge sport boutiques banner, so maybe she could make it available for customers here. That would be nice!
Your dog looks lovely, by the way! 🙂
Thank you very very much! I appreciate.
