So it’s been a whole since I wrote.. A quick update.. I have been working since saturday (and will be working through friday then have the weekend off).. that’s what happens when you miss 4 days of work due to the snow.. speaking of while we got another inch last night.. and been flurries off and on all day. I’m rather sick of this snow by now. I want things to get back to normal.
Anyway, sorry for the post lag, it’s been busy. New jobs are always a little stressful until you get the swing of things.. I have had Luna with me the past two days.. and I must say she is loving my new job. This is the first time in a long time that when I come home from work with her she is too tired to say hello to chris for more than 10 seconds, before she plops down to pass out. Until you have a high energy, smart, agile, and athletic dog, you can’t understand how much of a blessing it is to come home to a tired dog… some think it’s ridiculous how much time I spend training and exercising Luna, but it’s what I signed up for when I got a sporting/working breed.. she needs it, and I knew that going in. The reason she can nap all day with Chris is because I have given her energy outlets all her life. I would like to say I have full-filled her needs as a dog pretty darn well, always still things to improve on, but in my books she is pretty darn stable for a “velcro-dog.”
Alright, meant to keep this short.. anyway, she loves my job.. mainly because she gets to run around with other bird dogs when time allows. She apparently has had some pent up energy (I fully blame the 30+ inches of snow) because she has been booking it around the place giving the 8 month old German Shorthair a run for his money. I love it! Anyway, no pictures, not that comfortable with the job yet.
I picked up some new food for her, and she shall start giving it a go tomorrow.. it will be interesting to see how this compares with some other foods I’ve had her on. She apparently has some food allergies though not severe at all, and I would love to get her on a food she loves to eat (like this last food) but that is of better quality and makes the itching go away (in winter at least). So we shall see. I also found some raw Green Beef Tripe to put her back on, which is really exciting because I am pretty sure I have that to thank for her previously gorgeous coat.. So hopefully things will improve (not that she ever looked bad.. but would love to see if I can improve).
Anyway, that is all for now. . time to hit the hay, as I have to get up in 6 hours.. which may not seem like too short a time, unless you are like me and need 8 hours to feel like you are functioning normal..
PS.. old photo.. but I don’t think I’ve put it up and I have no time to find a new one.. this weekend hopefully. alright, g’night all (2 of you…)
I left a reply to the post before last by mistake…it was meant to go here. Never mind, the sentiment is the same. Good luck with the new job.
