Going for the head shot here, not stack..
Anyway, show day number one went well overall. Luna won her class, but lost in Winners Bitch. A friend who also judges Vizslas and breeds them won with one of her own dogs.. It seems the winner was once again a political decision. But from what Laurie and Amy said Luna did awesome. The judge liked her, she had wonderful movement, loose lead on the down and back, very focused and light. She did everything she was supposed to. So after all that being said, part of me is sad she didn’t win, but I’m happy it was not due to something Luna did. Her actions today were even more great considering she is basically in full blown fertility (most likely, as indicated by males on property). Normally when dogs are shown while in heat they can be droopy, stiff, and way out of sorts. Who knows how tomorrow will go, I hope the trend continues upward. I will have to drop her off at 4:45 AM so they can take her up to the show, as I have to work. I will be able to attend the show on sunday, and hopefully it’ll be a great day full of lots of pictures.
Life on the farm is in a bit of a tizzy with Luna being in heat. There are currently 2 intact males.. One is an experienced stud dog, the other (Dover) is not, but is finally feeling the pull of real hormones. They both are a wreck, and due to this Luna is now strictly confined to the kennel, no more running and peeing all over the yard. They both follow me around the yard as if Luna is going to pop out of my pocket. I can’t wait till she’s through this cycle, and if the next one is late, I won’t be complaining.
Anyhow, off to get some sleep, early morning and a busy day at work.
PS… Luna and I shall most likely start some agility training come August.. quite excited.
