So… ever since Luna has been introduced to the bumper launcher she has become a bit of a fanatic. Who knew adding the whole sound of a blank .22 and it flying fast would make her want to chase/retrieve so much more, but she does.
Anyway, moving along. We took the whole gang to the pond the other night for a swim and brought the launcher.. One by one we added to the group and eventually they were all allowed to go get it.
Luna is the red head on the far right top, the bumper is about halfway between her and the shore to her left. Luna was jumping in the water faster than I’ve ever seen her do. Normally peer pressure does not do this to her at all, she will sit and wait for them to come back and then try and take it (at least with her family she does). But this time she swam after every single shot outside of maybe 4 towards the end. Which is insane considering she never got a single one after we let Memphis (big GSP) out, she was in the lead a couple times though.
She could care less that she was swimming in quite a bit of muck.
I love this last shot, I love the look in her eyes.. she was waiting for us to reload and shoot again. She looks like a hunting dog in this pic for some reason, sure she’s not pointing, but I love how poised she is.
She is back to her normal self these days, now I just wish it would cool the heck off so I could get back to exercising her. She has gotten slightly out of shape (though you wouldn’t know it if she was swimming). We have had a record breaking summer for heat and humidity, and I’m ready for it to go away. Haven’t had to mow the lawn for about a month or two probably, so you can imagine how it impacts getting her out to exercise, just straight not fair to do. I have been hankering to get the roller blades back out and take her for a spin, but never any good weather for it.
Alright, time to hit the hay, this puppy business has been wearing me out.
