Here are a couple of photos from a recent outing to the watershed.
I love LOVE how Luna just went up and stood like that. This is called “oh hurry and snap the picture to document this” so artistic-ness went out the window.
Both pups went straight for the water and I could not (nor did I want to) keep them out. We live with a Vizsla Fish and a Lab Fish, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Luna always hunts the edges first, she has done this ever since she discovered her true water love: Waterbugs/skeeters/spiders…. those things that shoot around the water’s surface.
Normally it’s Luna getting into my shots, but I have a feeling Wyatt will be much harder to control when I’m taking water pictures. But I’m happy to share as this proved to be a cute and fitting picture.
And I had to try and pose them, you don’t know how hard they fought this, to have both looking in the general direction of the camera OUTDOORS…. IN THE WOODS…. is pretty insane. I must admit Luna is often the distracted one and I usually have to really work her to get her to look while outside. I need to find a new bag of tricks. Yummy treats don’t always cut it.
We are headed back there today to enjoy the warmer weather and to most importantly hopefully come home with some tired pups. They have been fired up lately (been busy at work and weather has not permitted much outside)
And here is the latest from my kitchen:
Well the treat on the paw is.. I experimented with Berry Snap recipe and subbed some leftover beef stew (mashed up) for the PB and swapped blueberries for Craisins. I was pleased with the results, and as seen by the look on Luna’s face, she must have liked them too (again she did not want to have to wait for me to get the shot, she just wanted the cookie).
If you want to see more from my kitchen or more artistic shots from our hike check out the photo blog.
Happy Saturday!
Those are great pictures, especially the posed picture. I can never get my dogs to sit nicely together for a photo.
Thanks, it’s a work in progress. Luna will sit well for me, though she may not look at me as I like.. Wyatt is harder to place in a specific spot, he just doesn’t quite get it or care to move over 3 more inches. But we will nail it eventually. I’m sure you could get your dogs to do it, they must be well trained in sit being retrievers.
how cute is she!!! i am just loving the photos of luna, she is such a beauty 🙂
