Well it was quite a show weekend for the Dynata family. I wanted to wait till showing was done for all involved before I posted any formal results.
I was privileged to get a play by play of the show courtesy of Luna’s breeder Laurie, via several helping hands standing ringside as she was needed in the ring to handle Max (half brother to Luna). Thanks to all for keeping me informed as I was stuck at work.
Friday, Luna took second in her Open Bitch class. This is not bad at all considering there were something like 30 Vizslas entered for friday. She did everything the handler asked and showed beautifully from what I was told (no, I’m not doubting you). Open Bitch is always a very competitive class, so even my (too) competitive self was happy she placed so high. Luna’s half brother Sammy went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for his first Major towards his championship on friday though so it was a very good day.
Saturday Luna got one step closer yet again, taking Reserve Winners Bitch, Saturday being a Specialty, I was very happy with that placement. Sure it did not give us any points but my girl’s got game. And from what others reported she was amazing in the ring, really wish I could have been there to watch and get more photos. Saturday also brought a Reserve Winners Dog for Max, another half brother to Luna. So again a great day for the Dynata gang, and thank you to Luna’s handler Patty for working so hard to get a win for her. She obviously LOVES to show for you.
Sunday was the last day I had entered Luna, BUT Sunday was our day! Luna must have gotten sick of having everyone else take home the points so she got even more amazing for Patty in the ring… I imagine she looked something like the photo above, minus the fact that it was indoors, but you put a piece of bait on the floor in front of her and she will stare that thing down as if she could magically get it to fly over to her mouth. And I hear that Patty did something similar, and I saw her do it the second time she handled her. She got her figured out quick, and really seems to enjoy showing Luna, Sunday they must have really knocked some socks off because Luna ended up winning Winners Bitch for a 4 point major!
So now Luna only needs 3 more single points to finish her AKC CH (show championship). Hopefully she will continue her role and get those last couple points easily. She seems to be on a bit of a roll this year, maybe she’ll finish up at the shows this weekend. Sadly I will be working again so I can’t go up and take pictures. part of me really wants to be there in case she gets her CH, but I can’t do anything about that… and I will be oober happy to have her CH done.
Not to be outdone Sunday, Max DID finish his CH by taking Winners Dog for a 5 point major! (we were 1 girl shy of Luna’s being a 5 point major too), and to wrap it all up Sammy went reserve again on Monday…. both Sammy and Luna are soooo close to getting their CH! We might just have to throw a big party for all these new Champions!
Thanks to all for all the time, miles, texts, message, and support you send our way. Wouldn’t be possible without you.
PS… sadly upon returning home from the show Luna had to go into the kennel as she is in season… so no photos with her trophies for a while. I know, big bummer, at least you don’t have to see her mopy face every day.
Congratulations!! What a fantastic weekend you had. She looks amazing in that photo so I am sure she’ll gather those 3 points fast. I can only imagine how proud you must be. I can’t wait to see her winning trophy photo! I hope her time passes quickly.
Congratulations to Luna and all of the other dogs. A 4 point major is just fabulous! Lucky you, you also got some lovely rosettes and a trophy too. I bet Luna will be finished before you know it (both her CH and her season…lol…nothing like hanging around a bunch of bitches at dog shows to bring on “that time” :)).
Storm will not be seeing the inside of the ring for a bit because she blew her entire coat. Oh well, at least she doesn’t need coat for hunt testing. 😉
What a great, successful weekend for all. Congratulations. She looks amazing in that photograph. It must be very hard to be at work knowing your dog is off at the show having fun! Thank goodness for tec advances and text messaging!
I am such a child — I giggle every time the word “bitch” appears in your post. She is beautiful. I knew she would win big 🙂
Lol I’m glad I could make you laugh.. it is pretty funny. I have slipped and said the word once to chris, really should just give up and use the word like it’s meant for. Know what’s funnier? Hearing his grandma say it when she read the towel, said it like it was just any other word (and she never swears). Thanks for your support
